Day 1 — PARIS, CHATEAUX COUNTRY

Leave Paris this morning via Orleans to the Chateau de Chambord largest of the Loire chateaux. Its sudden apparition at the end of an avenue with its white mass gradually increasing make a deep impression. Once again en route to your destination via the historic Chateau de Blois and finally the elegant des Hauts de Loire. Sleep comes easily tonight in this ancient chateau.

Day 2 — PERIGORD

Once on the road this morning the Chateaux of the Loire will keep your head moving from side to side. Continue on to Fontevraud l’Abbaye, one of the great curiosities of France. South to the “Venice of Perigord” with its luxuriant landscape, its prehistoric grottos and quaint bridges. Continue to your hotel on the banks of the Dronne to discover the fascinating heritage of this ancient mill, where in bygone days monks came to extract oil from their walnuts.

Day 3 — DORDOGNE

This morning drive via the prehistoric caves and some of the greatest finds in Europe. Following the Dordogne you soon discover a dream castle rising above the river. The Chateau de la Treyne will enchant you with the sweetness of its beautiful gardens and discreet luxury. A pleasant walk before dinner can be taken in the castle’s 300 acres of park land with its age old trees.

Day 4 — TARN GORGE

As you drive further south, you become suddenly aware of the landscape change. Passing through historical Albi with its red tiled roof signals the south of France.. Nestled on the banks of the incredible Tarn river gorge, the chateau is a rare 15th century castle with its medieval character carefully preserved with great open fireplaces contributing to the atmosphere of an earlier era.

Day 5 — PROVENCE

Mediterranean magic begins this morning driving towards the depths of Provence as you wind your way through the villages made famous through the humorous books written by Peter Mayle. Soon the names of history start to come visually alive - Pont du Gard, Avignon, Arles and Les Baux. Here in the middle of this celebrated region the Auberge de Noves sits quietly and sedately in a fragrant world of flowers and olive trees where service and respect have become a tradition.

Day 6 — NICE

Make an early start on your last morning as there is still much to discover enroute to the Riviera. Drive via Aix-en-Provence with its fountains and mantel of tree shaded boulevards before dropping down to the coast with its breath-taking sea vistas and the storied towns of St. Tropez, Cannes and Antibes ending your 6 day adventure destined to be engraved on your memory to recall at will for many moments of “Joie de Vivre”.
