Half Day Manhattan Highlights

Drive down some of America’s most famous streets and visit its signature landmarks on this 4 hour journey through the heart of Manhattan. The day begins at Columbus circle, at the southern edge of Central Park. Experience the majesty of perhaps the nation’s most famous public park before entering the concrete jungle in earnest.  Follow 5th Avenue through the core of New York past the Plaza Hotel, Rockefeller Center, and the Empire State building.  Visit Times Square before heading to Lower Manhattan and historic neighborhoods like Greenwich Village, Little Italy, and Wall Street. Finally, finish with Ground Zero, One World Trade Center, and Battery Park.

Half Day Lower Manhattan

The southern tip of Manhattan Island, unmistakably crowned by its line of shimmering modern skyscrapers, has been always been a source of American identity. On this 4 hour tour, experience the famous sights and sounds of Downtown New York. At its very edge is The Battery, a park commanding unmatched views of the harbor and Statue of Liberty. Nearby is the Fraunces Tavern Museum, a preserved 18th century meeting place of the founding fathers. Next is Wall Street, whose importance and fame make it synonymous with wealth and excess. Across town, along the shore of the Hudson River, is perhaps the most important landmark of 21st century America, Ground Zero. It stands a memorial to the tragic events of 9/11. Half Day Upper Manhattan

Although Downtown Manhattan garners considerable fame in its own right, the upper part of the island plays host to some of the country’s most iconic locations. This 4 hour tour of Midtown and beyond is sure to shorten any bucket list. Start along famous 5th Avenue, visiting Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Next are Radio City Music Hall and The Museum of Modern Art. Half Day Brooklyn

Connected to Manhattan across one of the world’s most recognizable bridges, Brooklyn is an integral part of New York City, yet also a unique city unto itself. On this 4 hour tour, explore the largest of NYC’s five boroughs. Caught in an ongoing struggle between its rich history and waves of gentrification, Brooklyn offers an array of vibrant neighborhoods and attractions. Full Day Hudson Valley

Beyond the city, the Hudson River Valley winds north, connecting the metropolis with the rural environs of Upstate New York. A welcome departure from the urbanity of New York, this 8+ hour tour offers an opportunity to sample a selection of these country retreats. Among the possible destinations are the palatial former residences of Captains of industry like Rockefeller and Vanderbilt. Springwood, the former residence of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his family, is located nearby in Hyde Park. Down river is West Point, where the United States Military Academy has stood for centuries. Closest to the City, but by no means bothered by it, is Sunnyside, the home of one of the nation’s original literary celebrities, Washington Irving.
